Fadogia Agrestis (Also known as “Black aphrodisiac” or “bakin gagai”) is a yellow-colored herb that grows in Nigeria and Eastern Europe. Traditionally, Fadogia has been used as an herbal remedy for erectile dysfunction.

The bioactive compounds naturally found in Fadogia Agrestis are alkaloids and saponins, along with small amounts of anthraquinones and flavonoids. (Saponins are also believed to cause the effects listed below in Fenugreek).

Research

Testosterone: One effect found in research (on rats) is a 600% increase in testosterone, and researchers concluded that the saponins may have contributed to this increase by raising levels of LH (Luteinizing Hormone).

Libido: The same study found improvements in sexual health and performance in the male subjects.
